Our mouths are full of bacteria, most of which are unharmful because they serve as the entrance to our digestive and respiratory systems, though some of them have the potential to be harmful.

Practising good oral and dental hygiene can help you avoid the uneasiness of bad breath, the expense of treating cavities, and the loss of teeth as you age. It would help if you understood the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene because of the link between your teeth and your whole health.

Frequently Asked Questions

SoFresh Flossing Toothbrush

The SoFresh® Flossing Toothbrush’s bristles are made of a plastic material called Poly Buthyl Teleputalate (PBT), which typically lasts longer than normal nylon bristles found in most toothbrushes because they do not absorb as much water.

As soon as your child’s first tooth appears, you should begin the brushing process. Parents should always consult with their dentist to receive proper instruction on how to brush infant teeth.

You should use the flossing toothbrush in the same way that you would use a normal toothbrush. Use gentle strokes to brush both the outer and inner surfaces of your upper and lower teeth. This will allow the flossing bristles to effectively clean in between your teeth and under your gums.

The SoFresh® Flossing Toothbrush should be replaced every 3 months to ensure optimum performance. You should also consider changing toothbrushes after you have experienced a cold, mouth infection or other illness, as germs can remain in your toothbrush bristles and lead to reinfection.

This toothbrush does not replace flossing. It greatly enhances your daily flossing routine.

The SoFresh® Flossing Toothbrush only comes with soft bristles because they are gentler on your gums and less abrasive on your teeth. Further, the ADA strongly recommends toothbrushes with soft bristles so that they do not damage enamel or your gums.

SoFresh Tongue Cleaner

The SoFresh® Tongue Cleaners are made of an FDA-grade plastic that does not absorb water.

We recommend that children under the age of 8 do not use the tongue cleaner unsupervised without an adult present. However, like adults, younger children can develop bad breath too. If your child begins to develop bad breath before the age of 8, we recommend you carefully supervise them while they use the tongue cleaner to gently clean their tongue.

Extend your tongue and place the tongue cleaner on the back of your tongue. Pull the tongue cleaner forward as you gently scrape the surface all the way to the tip. Rinse the tongue cleaner head and repeat until your tongue is clean.

The SoFresh® Tongue Cleaner should be replaced every 3 months to ensure optimum performance of the scraping edge.

A gag reflex is a contraction in the back of the throat that helps prevent the unintentional swallowing of an object. People have varying degrees of gag reflex and it is not uncommon that a tongue cleaner may cause this to happen. The best way to avoid the gag reflex is to stick your tongue out as far as you can and place the tongue cleaner as far back on your tongue without initiating the gag reflex. Over time, you should notice that you will be able to stick the tongue cleaner further back with minimal reflex.

A toothbrush is designed to do one thing, brush your teeth. A toothbrush is more likely to cause a gag reflex and you are more likely to miss areas on your tongue due to a toothbrush’s shape and size. The SoFresh® Tongue Cleaner’s design allows you to go further back on the tongue, reducing gag reflux. The tongue cleaner allows you to effectively remove more food particles and plaque with one motion versus a toothbrush.
